Reach Academy Feltham firmly believes that a uniform fosters a feeling of belonging and encourages children to take pride in their school. It is important that uniform is worn smartly, as this prepares pupils for the expectations of the wider world. Because of this, the uniform code will be enforced.

Pupils represent themselves, their families and Reach Academy Feltham every time they step outside their door in their school uniform. At all times they are in school uniform or representing Reach Academy Feltham, they must conduct themselves as they would in school. RAF takes this very seriously and will punish pupils for representing themselves or the school in a negative light, irrespective of whether pupils are on school premises or not.

Pupil presentation

On the way to and from school pupils should:

Wear their school uniformly perfectly (shirts tucked in; ties done up in Y6+; school shoes not trainers);
Speak at an appropriate volume level and with appropriate language;
Walk in groups of a maximum of six pupils (this will help to keep the volume at an appropriate level);
Ensure they travel directly to and from school and that an adult knows their whereabouts. Pupils should not congregate or loiter; and
Not act in any way which will put themselves or anyone else in danger (e.g. no running in the street, speaking inappropriately to pupils of other schools).
Not stand on the pavement waiting for friends
Not eat junk food/sweets or have fizzy drinks – if found with these they will be confiscated.

The school will expect parental support in disciplining pupils who do not behave appropriately outside of school, at any time, particularly if they are in school uniform.

Guidance for purchasing uniform

You will buy all school-specific items from our uniform supplier, School Uniform Direct based in Staines. For more information on permitted and non-permitted items, please refer to either the Primary or Secondary Handbooks.

You can purchase uniform online at www.sud.co.uk, or from their Staines store.

The approximate cost of compulsory uniform is £110.00.

You will be able to ask any questions you have regarding uniform during your home visit.

For all other items you are able to purchase them from any other supplier. The school uniform has been deliberately designed to be smart, easy to wash and wear and affordable.

Items that you can buy from other suppliers still need to conform to our strict uniform policy. This guidance is designed to help you to make good decisions and to be able to see what the Reach Academy Feltham means by ‘smart with no logos’.

Y3 to Y6 – Plain white button up shirt or blouse

Grey school skirt or dress – or summer dress in blue and white check

Unisex grey school trousers or shorts

Plain black or grey tights, or plain white, grey or black ankle socks

Plain black smart shoes

Primary PE uniform

Plain navy tracksuit bottoms or shorts. No leggings or cycling shorts

Reach Academy Feltham branded polo shirt (from uniform shop) or plain white polo shirt unbranded (from any shop).

Blue Reach Academy Feltham PE jumper (from uniform shop)

White sports socks and white or black trainers

Branded PE bag

Watches and earrings must be taken off for PE. If a child cannot take out their earrings (either because they are recently pierced or because they find it difficult), they will be covered in tape before the child can take part in PE.
