We’re thrilled to share our recent Year 1, Year 4 and Year 6 SATs results with you. Thank you to our families, pupils and teachers for their hard work throughout the year. We have once again exceeded the national average in all areas and feel confident about the continued progression of our pupils, as a result of dedicated curriculum planning and considered teaching practices. What are the SATs?
SATs stands for ‘standard assessment tests’. These tests are a really helpful tool used to demonstrate how well a child has progressed from KS1 to KS2. The Year 6 tests also give secondary schools a framework to measure against, when the time comes to support your child in the jump from Primary to Secondary education (KS3). The results also help Local Authorities and the Department for Education to identify which primary schools are excelling, and which may be struggling across the UK.
Reach Academy Feltham’s 2024 results
Phonics
We have celebrated another 98% pass rate which we have achieved for three years running. While the pass mark for the phonics test is a score of 32, Reach Academy Feltham students have averaged at a score of 39! We are so pleased with the continued achievement of our Year 1 students and know that literacy skills are an imperative part of their learning and development towards enjoying a life of choice and opportunity.
Times Tables
The Year 4 Times Tables check has historically seen Reach Academy Feltham greatly exceed the national pass rate. This year we received a 75% pass rate which exceeds last year’s national average rate by 46% – with just 29% of UK students passing the test in 2023. Our pupils have also received higher results than the local geographical average. We are proud to have increased our maths results once again, and will continue to place great emphasis on these key skills.
End of Year 6 results
In every subject area, over 90% of pupils are working at the expected standard ahead of Secondary education. Tested skills include spelling, punctuation, and grammar, reading, writing, and mathematical arithmetic and reasoning. We scored in Reading (96% of students working to the expected standard), Writing (95% of all pupils working to the expected standard) and Maths (95% of all pupils working to the expected standard). We have exceeded the national average score in every tested area for the past three years and are glad to continue seeing positive outcomes as we confidently prepare for Year 7.
